Your Logo in Your QR Code

How the logo works, exactly what to upload, and how to bring your details across if you are moving from Popl, Blinq or HiHello.

If you have used Popl before, the short version: NexaLink puts your logo in your QR code automatically and takes it from the card itself — so if you run more than one brand, each card carries its own mark with nothing extra to set up.

How It Works

Your QR code takes its logo from the card, not from your account. That matters if you run more than one business: an estate agency and a lending brand on one account get one mark each, automatically. There is no separate “QR logo” setting to keep in sync and no need to choose one brand over another.

Logo sourceThe logo on that card (falls back to the card’s photo)
Downloaded file1024 × 1024 px PNG — print ready
Error correctionLevel H, the strongest — the code still scans with the middle covered
No logo yet?You get a clean, unbranded code. Nothing breaks

To see it: open your card in the app and tap QR. The preview shows the exact code your customers will scan, with the web address printed underneath so you can check it before you print anything.

What to Upload

ShapeSquare (1:1) — matters more than everything else here
Size600 × 600 px minimum · 1000 × 1000 ideal
FormatPNG with a transparent background
Accepted filesJPG, PNG or WEBP — SVG is not accepted
Size limit5 MB
DesignBold shapes, strong contrast. Avoid thin or delicate lines
PaddingNone — don’t add your own white border, we add the spacing

Coming from Popl? The logo you already made for your PopCode is 540 × 540 and square, which works here as-is. Reuse it and skip this section.

Why a Transparent Background Matters

Your logo sits on a white rounded plate. A logo saved with its own white rectangle behind it shows that rectangle’s hard corners inside the rounded plate. A transparent PNG sits cleanly on it.

Why Square Matters Most

This is the most common reason a logo looks too small. Your logo sits in a square space, and we never stretch or squash it. So a wide logo is scaled down until its width fits, and ends up short, small, and floating in empty space.

A 4:1 wordmark placed in a 225-pixel square box renders about 225 × 56 — roughly a quarter of the area a square mark occupies at the identical setting.

If your logo looks too small, check its shape before anything else. Most companies have a square icon version alongside the wide name-of-the-company version. Switching to the square one typically doubles how large it appears, instantly, with no effect on scanning.

HiHello gives the same advice from the other direction, telling users to avoid text-based logos because of the size of the logo field. It is the same effect.

Can the Logo Be Bigger?

Yes, within limits — and the limits are smaller than most guides claim. The logo covers part of the code and error correction reconstructs what is hidden, but that budget runs out sooner on short web addresses.

A shorter address makes a smaller, denser QR code, and a smaller code has less room to give away. If you use a custom domain such as card.yourcompany.com, your code is one of the smaller ones, so it is the most sensitive to an oversized logo.

We tested this by generating codes at every size and machine-reading them back — the full method and results are in How big can a logo be in a QR code?. Our setting is chosen so every customer’s code scans reliably, including those on custom domains, rather than tuned to the most forgiving case.

Before You Print Anything

A QR code that doesn’t scan fails silently, after it is printed. Five minutes here saves a reprint.

  1. Check the address. Tap QR and read the web address under the code — that is exactly what a scan opens.
  2. Download the PNG, don’t screenshot. The download is 1024 × 1024 and print ready; a screenshot is your screen’s resolution and prints soft.
  3. Print one test copy at final size before the full run.
  4. Scan it with two phones — one iPhone, one Android — from about 30 cm, at an angle, in normal indoor light.
  5. Never print smaller than 2 × 2 cm (about 0.8 in). Below that, phone cameras struggle no matter what.
  6. Scanning from further away? Use the 10:1 rule — about 1 cm of code per 10 cm of distance, so a code read from 3 m needs to be roughly 30 cm. Then add 20–30% for poor light and awkward angles.
  7. Leave white space around it. Don’t crop tight to the edge, and don’t place it on a busy photo.

Moving from Popl, Blinq or HiHello

Do these in order. The order matters, because two of these doors lock behind you.

Export your contacts before you cancel or delete anything. On all three platforms export is a paid feature, and deletion is permanent with no export step offered at that point. Cancel first and you can lose the ability to take your own contacts with you.

Step 1 — Export Your Contacts

PlatformWhereRequires
PoplDashboard → Leads → select → Export (top right) → CSVPro+ or Teams. Free and Pro cannot export
BlinqDashboard → Contacts Export contacts (top right) → CSVPremium and above. Not on Free
HiHelloExport contacts to CSV or your CRMPaid tiers

All three are desktop-only — the export button does not exist in the phone apps. Do this part on a computer.

Step 2 — Save Your Images

Download your profile photo, company logo and cover image from your old card before you lose access. Your existing square logo will usually work here unchanged.

Step 3 — Rebuild Your Card

None of the three platforms let you export your own card content, only your captured contacts. Your name, title, company, links and bio have to be re-entered. It is a five-minute job per card, and it is the same on any platform you move to.

Step 4 — Only Now, Cancel

Deleting your Popl account does not cancel your Popl subscription. They are separate actions — delete the account and the billing quietly continues. Cancel the subscription where you bought it (App Store, Play Store or their dashboard), then delete.

Deleting also deactivates your old QR codes. Anything already printed with a Popl or Blinq code stops working the moment the account goes. Keep the old account alive until your new codes are printed and in circulation.
