Sharing Your Card

NexaLink Card provides multiple ways to share your digital business card. This guide covers every sharing method, when to use each one, and how to track your shares.

QR Code

The fastest way to share your card in person.

How to Generate

  1. Open the app and navigate to your card's detail screen.
  2. Tap the QR Code icon in the action bar.
  3. A full-screen QR code appears instantly with your card URL encoded.

The recipient scans the code with their phone camera (no special app required) and your card opens in their browser.

Save to Camera Roll

  1. While viewing the QR code, tap Save Image.
  2. The QR code is saved as a high-resolution PNG (1024x1024px) to your camera roll.
  3. You can now attach it to emails, add it to presentation slides, or print it.

Print Tips

  • Business cards: Place the QR code on the back of a traditional paper card as a bridge to your digital profile.
  • Name badges: Print the QR at a minimum size of 2x2 cm (0.8x0.8 in) to ensure reliable scanning.
  • Event banners: For large displays, export the QR at maximum resolution. The saved PNG scales well up to poster size.
  • Contrast matters: Always use a dark QR on a light background. Avoid placing the code over photos or busy patterns.

NFC Sharing (Pro and Premium)

Tap-to-share using NFC (Near Field Communication) tags.

Requirements

  • Pro or Premium subscription.
  • An NFC-capable phone (iPhone 7 or later, most Android phones from 2018 onward).
  • A writable NFC tag (NTAG213, NTAG215, or NTAG216 recommended).

How to Write Your Card to an NFC Tag

  1. Go to your card's detail screen and tap NFC in the action bar.
  2. Tap Write to Tag.
  3. Hold your phone near the NFC tag. On iPhone, hold the top edge of the phone against the tag. On Android, hold the center-back of the phone against the tag.
  4. Wait for the confirmation vibration and success message (1-2 seconds).
  5. The tag now contains your card URL. Anyone who taps their phone to the tag will see your card.

Compatible Devices for Recipients

  • iPhone: iPhone 7 and later read NFC tags natively. No app needed -- the tag triggers a notification when tapped.
  • Android: Most Android phones with NFC enabled will open the URL automatically in the browser.

Tag Placement Ideas

  • Stick an NFC tag on the back of your phone case.
  • Embed a tag in a physical business card or badge holder.
  • Place tags on your desk, laptop lid, or portfolio cover.

Updating the Tag

If you change your card URL or want to point the tag to a different card, repeat the write process. The new data overwrites the old data on the tag.

Link Sharing

Share your card URL through any digital channel.

Copy URL

  1. From the card detail screen, tap the Share icon.
  2. Tap Copy Link. The URL is copied to your clipboard.
  3. Paste it into any app: iMessage, WhatsApp, Slack, email, LinkedIn DM, etc.

Your card URL format: card.nexalink.com/yourname

  1. Tap the Share icon.
  2. Tap Share Link. The native share sheet opens.
  3. Select any app (Messages, Mail, Airdrop, Notes, etc.) to send the link directly.

Email Signature

If you are on the Premium plan, you can embed your card link in your email signature. See the Premium Features guide for setup instructions.

Apple Wallet (Premium)

Add your card to Apple Wallet so recipients can save it alongside boarding passes and loyalty cards.

How to Add

  1. From the card detail screen, tap the Wallet icon.
  2. Tap Add to Apple Wallet.
  3. Review the Wallet pass preview, which shows your name, title, company, and a QR code.
  4. Tap Add in the top-right corner.

How Recipients See It

When you share the Wallet pass (via AirDrop or the share sheet), the recipient sees:

  • A branded pass with your name, title, and company.
  • A QR code on the back that links to your full card.
  • Tappable fields for phone and email on the front.

The pass updates automatically when you edit your card.

Sharing the Wallet Pass

  1. Open the Wallet app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your NexaLink pass.
  3. Tap the three-dot menu and select Share Pass.
  4. Send via AirDrop, Messages, or Mail.

Share History

Every time someone accesses your card through any sharing method, it is logged.

Viewing Your History

  1. From the card detail screen, tap the History (clock) icon.
  2. You will see a chronological list of all share events.

Each entry shows:

Tips

  • Combine methods at events. Wear an NFC-enabled badge and have a QR code ready on your phone for people whose devices do not support NFC.
  • Add your card link to your social media bios. This creates a passive sharing channel that works around the clock.
  • Test your NFC tag periodically. Tags can fail if damaged or if the adhesive weakens and they shift position.
  • Use the share history to identify which methods generate the most engagement, and double down on those.

FAQ

Q: Can someone save my contact from the card page?
A: Yes. Every card page includes a "Save Contact" button that downloads a vCard (.vcf) file to the recipient's phone.

Q: Do QR codes expire?
A: No. Your QR code always points to your card URL, which remains active as long as your account exists.

Q: Can I share a card that is still in draft?
A: No. You must save/publish the card before sharing. The QR code and link only become active after the card is published.

Q: Is there a limit to how many times I can share?
A: No. Sharing is unlimited on all plans.

Q: Can I track who specifically viewed my card?
A: Share history records access events with timestamps and approximate location, but does not identify individual viewers by name unless they save your contact and you receive a notification.
