Visitor Guide
Everything you need to know as a visitor viewing someone's NexaLink digital business card.
What Is This Page?
You are looking at someone's digital business card, powered by NexaLink. It is the modern equivalent of a paper business card -- except it is always up to date, shareable with a tap, and works on any device.
The person who gave you this link (or whose QR code you scanned) created this card to share their contact information with you.
What You Can Do on This Page
Save Their Contact Information
Tap the large Save Contact button at the center of the card. This downloads a vCard file (.vcf) to your phone or computer. Opening the file adds the person's name, phone number, email, company, title, and other details directly to your phone's contacts.
- iPhone: The file opens in Contacts and shows a preview. Tap "Save" to add.
- Android: The file opens in your contacts app. Confirm to save.
- Desktop: The .vcf file downloads. Double-click to open in your default contacts application (Outlook, Apple Contacts, etc.).
Tip: Saving the contact means you will always have their latest details. If they update their card, the information stays current at the card URL.
Call, Email, or Visit Their Website
Below the person's photo and name, you may see action buttons:
- Call -- Tap to start a phone call directly (mobile) or see their phone number (desktop).
- Email -- Tap to open a new email to their address in your default mail app.
- Website -- Tap to open their website in a new tab.
Not all cards show all buttons. The card owner chooses which contact methods to display.
View Their Social Profiles
Below the action buttons, you may see social media icons for LinkedIn, Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, GitHub, YouTube, or TikTok. Tap any icon to open their profile on that platform.
Share This Card With Someone Else
Tap the Share button to send this card page to another person:
- On mobile -- Your phone's native share sheet opens, letting you send the link via Messages, WhatsApp, email, AirDrop, or any other sharing method.
- On desktop -- The card URL is copied to your clipboard. Paste it anywhere.
Scan the QR Code
Tap the QR Code button to display a scannable QR code. This is useful when:
- You are showing the card on your screen and want someone nearby to open it on their phone.
- You want to quickly transfer the link from your computer to your phone (or vice versa).
Point any phone camera at the QR code to open the card page.
Chat With the AI Assistant
Some cards have an AI assistant -- a small floating chat bubble in the bottom-right corner of the page. If you see it, tap the bubble (or the "Ask about..." pill) to open a conversation.
What you can ask:
- "What does this person do?" -- The assistant describes their role and background.
- "Get contact" -- The assistant offers to send you their contact card by email.
- "Book a call" -- The assistant helps you express interest in scheduling a meeting.
- "Work together" -- The assistant captures your interest in collaboration.
- Any free-form question about the person.
Quick action buttons appear at the start of the conversation so you can tap instead of typing.
Receive Their Contact Card by Email
During the AI assistant conversation, if you tap "Get contact," the assistant asks for your email address. After you enter it:
- You receive an email with the person's vCard attached.
- The card owner is notified that you requested their contact info.
This is useful if you are on a desktop and want the contact saved to your phone, or if you prefer receiving contact info by email.
Your Privacy
NexaLink respects your privacy as a visitor:
- Page views are counted -- The card owner can see how many total views their card received, but they cannot see who you are unless you voluntarily share your information.
- No personal data collected without consent -- Your name, email, or phone number are never captured unless you explicitly type them into the AI assistant chat.
- No cookies for tracking -- NexaLink uses analytics (Mixpanel) for aggregate product analytics. No cross-site tracking cookies are placed.
- Referrer recorded -- The card owner can see traffic sources (e.g., "from LinkedIn" or "from QR scan") but not individual visitor identities.
- Device type only -- Analytics record whether you visited from mobile or desktop, not your specific device or identity.
In short: If you just view the card and leave, the owner only knows that "someone viewed my card." If you enter your email in the AI chat, then and only then does the owner learn your email address.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to download an app?
No. The card page works in any web browser on any device. No app or account is required to view a card, save a contact, or use the AI assistant.
Is the contact information up to date?
Yes. Unlike paper business cards, digital cards are always live. When the card owner updates their info, the changes appear immediately on this page.
Can I create my own card like this?
Yes. NexaLink is free to get started. Visit nexalink.co to create your own AI-powered digital business card.
Why did the AI assistant ask for my email?
The AI assistant asks for your email only when you request the person's contact card to be sent to you, or when you express interest in booking a call or working together. Your email is shared with the card owner so they can follow up with you.
Is it safe to save the contact file?
Yes. The .vcf (vCard) file is a standard contact format supported by all phones and email clients. It contains only the contact information displayed on the card page -- nothing more.
